Music and its Effects on Skateboarding

Music is a very important part of skateboarding. Its what inspires a skater to do something incredible. I tend to listen to fast paced music that pumps you up and gets you ready to land an amazing trick. Once your inspired your prepared to give it your all. You can listen to music thats slower, to me that music calms you down gets you focused that way your more determined and think out your trick. The music you listen to can depend on the mood your on the say you decide to go skate, either way listen to music your pasionate about and gives you the pick up to do anything. Here are some genres skaters tend to listen to: Rock and its various sub-genres (like punk rock, classic rock, heavy metal, death metal, hardcore, and etc..) skaters tend to listen to hip-hop, wether it be current, old school, or underground as well as rap music. I’ve heard skaters listen to various types of music above i have uploaded a sample of what i enjoy and what inspires me to skate hope it helps enjoy.

                                    The Set-up of a Skateboard
The first step in skateboarding is of course to have a complete skateboard.  A skateboard is made up of various parts. (As shown in the picture above) The first piece of the skateboard is called a deck its a 7-layer piece of wood carved and concaved to create a skateboard.  To keep the skaters foot from sliding off the top of the deck has a piece of griptape on top of it.  The next part that you need are a set of trucks.  They are metal and they go on the bottom of the skateboard.  (Risers are optional, all risers do is prevent the wheels from wheel biting the deck not really important; cost about two bux? so whether you decided to get them or not its not much of a price change).  Trucks hold the wheels in place.  In order to make the wheels go they consist of bearings that help gain speed. Trucks, wheels, and bearings are the bottom half of a skateboard.  The deck is the top half.  In order to keep them together you need hardware.  They hold the skateboard together.  After you have all the pieces together you are ready to skate.  Have fun
